What are some of these methods?

  • The Free Pour Method

    Free pouring while it can be accurate with the proper training and skill, it’s also very easy to over pour using this method because most bars don’t take the time to train their staff correctly. Especially when you are running a bar or casino with 50 plus bartenders of varied skill and dedication.

  • The Jigger Method

    Jiggers can also be inaccurate. They also require training and are just as easy to manipulate as free pouring. Also it is very easy to spill while using them, loss of speed and sanitation issues.

  • Metered Pour Spouts

    Metered pour spouts are also slow and can only pour one set amount per bottle making it hard to measure different liquor amounts to create custom cocktails.

  • Liquor Gun Systems

    Liquor gun systems are very expensive and customers do not care for them. They require 24 hour monitoring to ensure they don’t run dry. Like metered pour spouts you are unable to pour varied amounts to make custom cocktails and on top of all this they miss-fire and use up valuable computer time trying to void and fix mistakes.

How do you maximize profits while still pleasing the customer and keeping your staff happy?

I have the right locations. The customers are there. The staff is terrific. Why am I still running a 30% pour cost? A few months ago I really started looking for a way to maximize my profits at my 5 frozen cocktail locations on the Las Vegas strip. There are lots of ways to do this of course. I could raise my prices, start using cheaper products, skimp on napkins or straws, or cut hours. But then I thought that the best way to maximize my business would be to make my bars become much more efficient.
Being from New Orleans, of course my bars are frozen drink bars. I opened my bars here in Las Vegas with the goal of bringing New Orleans style frozen drinks to the Las Vegas strip thus having the best tasting frozen drinks in town. We use only the finest juices and spirits and we offer very reasonable prices. I believe in providing the best tasting frozen cocktails on the strip so much that I even have a very unique return policy with my staff. Because there are so many different choices on the strip when it comes to frozen cocktails sometimes people get confused as to where they purchased them. So if anyone comes to one of my bars with a frozen cocktail that they purchased somewhere else and they don’t like the taste we will replace it. The last thing I want is for Las Vegas to be known as not having great frozen cocktails.
With that in mind I started looking for ways to eliminate waste and make sure that my entire product was being accounted for. With the customer always in mind and my staff being the most important part of business I started looking for a way to ensure the proper amount of liquor was being poured into each drink while also not slowing down my bartenders or disrupting customer service.
